just another afternoon at Hydrotech

so basically Matt thinks he's too cool for school and has two screen names. Oh but thats not all! Matt is so important that he has to have both names on simultaniously. (i have no idea why). One sn used to be only on at home and the other only on at work. I find that now even though both are on I still seem to use the home sn when he's home and the work when hes at work. The following conversation took place after I made this realization

Guava421: you know what i find funny
sdkfjla: What is that?
Guava421: that both of your sn's are on simultaniously now but i still write to aljfkds when you are home and sdkfjla when you're here
Guava421: & its unintentional
sdkfjla: That's cool. I find Fuzzy and Colleen do that as well.
sdkfjla: Makes sense though, right?
Guava421: not at all
sdkfjla: Why not?
Guava421: cause aljfkds is the primary name
sdkfjla: Well, it wasn't at work for a long time. So you're conditioned to IM me at sdkfjla when I'm at work.

Guava421: im breaking the mold
aljfkds: Can't talk, I'm at work.
Guava421: lol
Guava421: very funny

sdkfjla: So how's it going up there?
Guava421: its goin well thanks
Guava421: tried to talk to my friend matt but he's at work
sdkfjla: Good, good. Updated your blog recently?
Guava421: doing it now actually
Guava421: and yourself? hows it haning back there?
sdkfjla: Oh good, as always.
Guava421: wonderful

Homosexuality in humans in natural: a blogger's view

To those who believe that homosexuality is not natural:

In the order that I found this readily available information Google:

Biological and biblical-based

"Pronk's biological and ethical argumentation is far too complex to be summarized here. Only the conclusions can be noted: "homosexuality is not 'unnatural' in the biological sense of the word" (p. 214). Pronk develops at considerable length the point that homosexuals, even if biologically unable to change their orientation, are still responsible for their decision to engage in or abstain from homosexual intercourse and as free moral agents may not be exonerated on the basis of biology. Further, "homosexuality clearly carries with it the same potentialities for humanity or inhumanity as heterosexuality. And for no other reason than that the sex of the partners is morally irrelevant" (p. 262-3)."

Science-based

"One of my closest friends, Michael, once confessed to me that he first "knew" that he was homosexual when he was just ten years old.....The fact that such feelings could be cognizant at the age of ten always bothered me. I had been taught that homosexuals made the choice to be such-- or that they were somehow coerced into homosexual identity by an adult at some delicate stage in sexual development. In subsequent conversations with other gay men, I learned that almost everyone had a similar revelation at some point in their early life. Hardly anyone actually made the free choice to be homosexual. In fact, studies confirmed that almost 95 percent of homosexual men were adamant that they were born gay."

"I learned that there were homosexuals as far back as recorded history. Historians (Gore Vidal in particular) suggested that there has always been, more or less, a constant 10 to 15 percent of males that have preferred their own gender."

"While watching a news story on brain research this year, I was surprised to learn that scientists had determined that the characteristics which make us "think" either as males or females was localized in a small portion of the brain called the hypothalamus. Autopsies showed that the relative size and configuration of this master gland is different in males and females. Further research indicated that the hypothalamus in homosexual men was significantly different from that of "straight" (heterosexual) men (see Science, 253: 1034-1037, 1991)."

Some Bible-thumper tries to argue a whole letter with flawed reasoning-based

Initial letter:
"If everybody on earth were homosexual, the human race would die out: this is true and stupid. And it does not make homosexuality unnatural. Let's replace "homosexual" by "bank manager", it works. Replace "homosexual" by "nun", it works even better. Are nuns and bank managers more or less unnatural than gays? It is as stupid to expect "everybody on earth" to be homosexual as to expect "everybody on earth" to be a nun. Moreover, if "everybody on earth were homosexual" does not mean people could not breed. There would still be functionnal women and men (and anything in between) with insemination solutions."

Response:
"Wow, have you bought into the lie. Homosexual animals!! Could I see the independent studies on this? I read the articles you linked but the writer stated conclusions as if they were fact but without supporting evidence."

Here. Here. Here. Here.
Everywhere.

Psych-based

"Perhaps there is no one answer, that sexual orientation, whether homosexual or heterosexual; gay, straight, lesbian, or bisexual, all are a cause of a complex interaction between environmental, cognitive, and anatomical factors, shaping the individual at an early age."

But those are all natural influences, right?

Moral/political-based

"The antebellum slave owner, who sipped his mint junlep while sitting in the shade, as Sambo chopped cotton in the burning sun, thought it entirely natural to do so. The Inca priests, who disemboweled maidens on their alters, evidently thought human sacrifice to be entirely natural. Hindus, who burned widows on their husband's pyres, evidently thought suttee to be natural. Hitler, of course, thought it quite natural to kill Jews."

"We ought not to enslave other human beings — as we may "enslave" dogs or horses or oxen — because we recognize in them a nature that we share."

B.A.-based

If Mr. Felps would get his head out of his ass and engage a loving homosexual couple, he would find that there is nothing more beautiful and natural. Just as between a heterosexual couple. Maybe Mr. Felps will even end up with his head in another male's ass.

Later.

It's a beautiful thing

CNN.com - Debate widens over same-sex marriage - Mar. 4, 2004

Judging by the away messages left for me today, more people read this than I previously thought, thanks for that. And sorry for those of you that were upset by my posts; not because I am upset that I rubbed you the wrong way, but I'm sorry that you are ignorant and close-minded. I was particuarly fond of the message that someone left me stating that the reason homosexuality is wrong is because "our bodies are not meant to do that"...well, our bodies also aren't meant to have damaged organs removed and new ones placed in...that isn't "natural". It's also not "natural" to have blood transfusions. Should these things be outlawed? That is just absurd. And homoexuality is not uncomommon in nature. There are tons of examples of homosexuality in the animal kingdom. And I'm sure I'm not gonna change anyone's mind, but shit I at least have to try. Cause I'll be damned if I'm gonna homeschool my kids to become little revolutionaries for people like you to slow them down. Let's love one another and live...

Bush Sucks

CNN.com - Bush campaign defends ads - Mar. 4, 2004

This man is sick. Nothing like taking one of the greatest (if not greatest) tragedies of our time and using it to try to gain voter support. He is disguisting and I can't wait for more people to see him as he truly is.

Savage Love

"it's next to impossible to write about sex in the U.S. without occasionally diving into politics. And remember: I'm not the one politicizing the sex lives of Americans. The Republicans, Bushies, and fundamentalists are to blame, they're the ones politicizing sex by trying to take away our reproductive rights, fight gay marriage, and destroy sex education." Dan Savage

Freedom To Marry

Freedom To Marry

i know this is a super controversial topic, but since only one person reads this site i'm not overly worried about offending anyone, and if on the off chance someone is offended by this, then make your own website and air your grievences there...

i love tony pierce

"i think even though there isnt a separation of church and state in america nor does there need to be one, if a gay couple wants to be married so that they could participate in some of the same human rights as non-gay married couples like being able to visit or pull the plug on their terminal loved one, or to claim an inheritence, or for tax purposes, etc., then they should be allowed a civil wedding. this is the land of the free, righties. quit being old. those arent traditional values other than ignorance intolerance and denial when you discriminate, especially to our gay lesbian and transgendered brothers and sisters.

however if a church doesnt want to perform the religious ceremony they should be allowed that option. the Bible is reasonably clear about its stance on homosexuality, however the New Testament did usher in a kinder gentler atmosphere. instead of an eye for and eye, we're told to turn the other cheek. instead of rules prohibiting eating pork and shellfish we're suddenly allowed to.

but most importantly we're given a new commandment from Jesus.

love each other like ive loved you.

thats an order from above.

love is love

love is not 'be cool about it'

love is 'be passionate about it'

love is a strong word and the chosen one is telling us to love even the gays, christians.

love them as much as how much God loves Christians.

some of whom are gay.

but, no, i dont believe that a man who was born a man but then had the proceedure that turned him into a woman, should be allowed to play on the womens professional golf tour.

fucks up the sanctity of golf."

wow

SI.com - NCAA Basketball - Harrick Jr.'s 'easy' UGA final exam uncovered - Wednesday March 3, 2004 5:51PM

as if it isn't bad enough that the majority of these big time programs are just pimping these athletes out for their own personal gain, now this. seriously though, "8. How many points does a 3-point field goal account for in a Basketball Game? " that's just insane. if i were a student at that school i'd be so pissed, let alone if i were an athlete. nothing quite like feeling that your coaches have no faith whatsoever in your academic abilities...
