Such a great flick...

Why shouldn't I work for the N.S.A.? That's a tough one, but I'll give it a shot. Say I'm working at N.S.A. Somebody puts a code on my desk, something nobody else can break. So I take a shot at it and maybe I break it. And I'm real happy with myself, 'cause I did my job well. But maybe that code was the location of some rebel army in North Africa or the Middle East. Once they have that location, they bomb the village where the rebels were hiding and fifteen hundred people I never had a problem with get killed. Now the politicians are sayin', "Send in the marines to secure the area" 'cause they don't give a shit. It won't be their kid over there, gettin' shot. Just like it wasn't them when their number was called, 'cause they were pullin' a tour in the National Guard. It'll be some guy from Southie takin' shrapnel in the ass. And he comes home to find that the plant he used to work at got exported to the country he just got back from. And the guy who put the shrapnel in his ass got his old job, 'cause he'll work for fifteen cents a day and no bathroom breaks. Meanwhile my buddy from Southie realizes the only reason he was over there was so we could install a government that would sell us oil at a good price. And of course the oil companies used the skirmish to scare up oil prices so they could turn a quick buck. A cute little ancillary benefit for them but it ain't helping my buddy at two-fifty a gallon. And naturally they're takin' their sweet time bringin' the oil back, and maybe even took the liberty of hiring an alcoholic skipper who likes to drink martinis and play slalom with the icebergs, and it ain't too long 'til he hits one, spills the oil and kills all the sea life in the North Atlantic. So my buddy's out of work and he can't afford to drive, so he's got to walk to the job interviews, which sucks 'cause the shrapnel in his ass is givin' him chronic hemorrhoids. And meanwhile he's starvin' 'cause every time he tries to get a bite to eat the only blue plate special they're servin' is North Atlantic scrod with Quaker State. So what do I think? I'm holdin' out for somethin' better. Why not just shoot my buddy, take his job and give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join the National Guard? I could be elected president.
Good Will Hunting

can't sleep

lets see here, i havent posted anything in a while so here we go. the holidays came and went and everything progressed nicely. lots of books, journals, yarn, and even a donation in my name which is always appreciated.
with christmas behind me ive been thinking about the new year and how i hope things are different in 2004. one of the main things that i hope the new year brings with it is a change in peoples behaviors and attitudes, because quite frankly im tired of people having baseless opinions. and im even more tired of them not owning up to them. yeah, that tires me out the most.
i understand that i am not always the most likeable person, and believe you me i am okay with that. i try to be a decent individual and not speak badly of others and go about my way, but for some people i guess that just isnt enough. pretty silly.
and ive always said that the thing i loathe the most in others is indifference, because it means you totally do not affect them in one way or another, but really i think what i loathe most now is when people have issues with you and dont address them. so if anyone happens to be checking this out and you don't care for me, then dont care for me ALL of the time; not just when im not there to defend my name. dont smile at me and be cordial, just come out and say " you know what, i think you kinda suck". or better yet, don't say a word. that also works. because it does kinda hurt when people are nice to you and then you find out that its all a facade.
so yeah, thats what i hope 2004 brings; i hope it brings genuine people into my life because thats what i need. and for those genuine people that i do have..thank you so much, because you make the daily grind completely worth it. i love you.
and i know this all seems really random, but its me, and i am really random. i also cant sleep which makes it all the more random. rock on guys.

Unbelievable True

Since I lived there for 3 months, and had to experience what really goes on when it rains (2 times in those 3 months; unreal) this is about the most accurate portral of it. You would think someone set these people on fire they way they act.

Christmas dilemma

Ok, so it's 1:48pm on Christmas day and I currently have 4 journals, all of which rock, but still 4 nonetheless. If anyone has anything cool to throw in there like magazine articles or pics, or anything they think would enhance them feel free to send them over.

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone gets everything that they asked for and more. And I hope the new year brings with it world peace. That's what I'm asking Santa for.

Oh Man

wow...
http://www.jimrome.com/home/article/article_4.html

We're genius'

I could be alone on this one, and perhaps I am, but so what. This is my page. There were many reasons that the U.S was attacked on Sept. 11th and still continues to be attacked both here and overseas. And in my opinion some of the main reasons are that we are so ego-centric, greedy, oppulent, and arrogent. I'm not saying innocent people should have lost their lives because we, as a country, are these things, but I do think that now that our poor charecteristic traits have been brought to the worlds attention on such a large scale we should do something about it. Having such a cocky self-image as the U.S does is horrific. We need to change, we need to become more humble and not always assume that our way is the best way. If we don't learn from our past mistakes and short-commings then how can we ever expect to grow as a nation. We should not let innocent lives perish in vain. We need to reevaluate our way of existance. I think the problem is that most people feel like if they do re-evaluate then they are "letting the terrorists win", but that is so not true. I was taught that when something terrible happens to you, you evaluate it and learn from it. This needs to happen now. But unfortunatly it doesn't look like its going to, esp. not when plans for the "freedom tower" are in full swing. How did that conversation even go?
"Uh, hey guys we were recently attacked cause of our arrogence and oppulence as well as other negative charecteristics in the manner in which we conduct our lives, so im thinking we need to put up some new buildings."
"Sweet. ok i know, lets errect the biggest, tallest, baddest building in the world!!! It'll be just like we're giving the middle finger to the rest of those bastards"
"yeah! We're the best!"

Things I'm glad I remember from last nite

1.There's nothing quite like winning losing $5 just for remembering forgetting what you yourself posted
2. Let's get this basket of Chianti
3."The tree is tilted, fix it real quick"...20 minutes and countless pine needles later it gets thrown into the corner...at least its up. But really though, no one needs a 10 foot christmas tree, esp if the stand can only accomadate a 3 foot tree. much props to the boys who somehow managed to salvage christmas
4. "Where's kraze?" Ah, yes..crammed up underneath the couch, where else would he be? personally I think he was scared of the tree.
5. Definatly the most fun stairs ever.
6. "Shouldn't Adam be here be now? Oh look there's the police cruiser ."
7. Scary man having the nerve to knock on the window and ask Vinnie to move when all he was doing was peering into his appartment. "It's okay, I live next door"
8.Even with the code we STILL couldn't get onto the roof!
9. "So are these beautiful boys your gay friends?"....well, that one there is from "the ho".
10. PTA pants
11. Did anyone remember what configuration the wise men were in? Good thing we took that picture
12."Lets make the rug wall to wall carpeting" ( no joke though, that thing was more comfortable then most mattresses. I'm not quite sure if it's more comfortable than the couch though, cause someone had chosen to pass out on it and be greedy...
13. Taking the path with only one other person in the car with you is really odd. where are all the people???
14."You don't need to set an alarm; you'll be able to hear Matt's from Hoboken"
15. "Dude, where's my car?" We're still trying to figure out that one

i clearly need to work on my resume

i refuse to believe that the only job I, a senior honors student at Fordham University, am qualified to do is look after an infant and watch endless hours of the wiggles...
www.thewiggles.com
..and listen to the bi-lingual tickle-me-elmo sing the sesame street theme song in spanish.
los días asoleados
que barren las nubes
lejos en mi manera
a donde está dulce
pueden usted el aire decirme cómo conseguir
cómo conseguir a sesame street

yeah, thats my life. i drive home with that in my head.

'Tis the season

I know everyone has tons of people to buy gifts for this time of year, but some people have no one to buy gifts for them, so maybe if you have some time and some extra money lying around you could really make a difference. Just check it out...thanks

the blog master

i would just like to thank matt for being supercool and helping me start this bad boy up....perhaps i can learn to do it myself, so i can bring down the uberplex!!!!!

First problem with blogspot.com

So there's a nice banner ad up above.

It has a link that says "get rid of this ad," but when you click it an error page reading "The page cannot be found" comes up. So that's a bit annoying.

But without further ado, her she is, the little bombshell herself, the cajun miracle: Katie. Apparently she rocks.

Later.

Do the titles work?

Oh very nice, they do.

[Update: they're a little too big, huh?]
[Update 2: Not any more they're not.]
katie rocks

This is Katie's new blog.

Does it work?

Later.
